Who Is Synikall?
Synikall may not be on your radar – YET, but those in the know see him as one of the most promising hip hop talents to come from the UK underground scene. Described by BBC Introducing as having the angst and energy of early Beastie Boys, Synikall has been steadily carving his own brand of energy-enthused soulful hip hop.
Syn cites influences such as Logic, Kaytranada, Anderson Paak, GoldLink and Loyle Carner. He started in music as a DJ in Ayia Napa. After returning to the UK, he began making moves in the local hip hop scene, quickly gaining attention and sharing stages with both Professor Green and Labrinth amongst others.
Synikall released a hip hop/house mash-up EP in 2013 via Black Hole Recordings. The EP caught the attention of breakbeat legends The Freestylers who contacted him to feature on their album ‘The Coming Storm’.
After the lack of control over his own music with Black Hole, Synikall started his own label named Melee Recording Group.
He recruited the likes of The Freestylers, Jagged Hedz and Trademark Blud to feature on the 1st edition of 3 EP's, Evolution Of Grandeur with the first single, Who Got The Buzz, reaching #11 in the Official UK Club Charts in April 2016. The EP itself was released 4th November 2016 alongside the single ‘Illusions Of Grandeur’ feat. Trademark Blud.
The 2nd instalment was released in the summer of 2018 and was coupled with a sell-out release party show at the prestigious O2 Academy Birmingham.

2009 - DJ in Ayia Napa
In 2009, Synikall started his career in music as a DJ in Ayia Napa, Cyprus. He worked as a warm-up DJ along the main strip in the party town, and used the stage to explore his passion for rapping to build confidence on stage.
2011 - Support For Professor Green
In 2011, Synikall landed his first major support gig after returning to the UK and working on his own music. He opened up for Professor Green at Canterbury University Summer Ball.
2015 - Signed A Record Deal
In 2016, Synikall landed a record deal with an international label owned by famous Trance DJ, Tiesto. The 'Shut Ur Trap EP' series was released.
2016 - Started MRG (Melee Recording Group)
In 2016, and after becoming increasingly frustrated with the lack of effort put behind his release with Black Hole Recordings, Synikall decided to create his own recording and media company with childhood friend, Nathaniel Thompson. They named it MRG (Melee Recording Group).
2016 - Evolution Of Grandeur EP released
Later that year, Synikall released the Evolution Of Grandeur EP, featuring collaborations with Trademark Blud, Jagged Hedz, Elle Chante - and the lead single 'Who Got The Buzz' feat. The Freestylers, which reached #11 in the official UK club charts.
2018 - Headlined O2 Academy Birmingham
In 2018, Synikall released his 2nd EP on MRG, entitled 'Fusions Of Grandeur' - collaborating with other artists from the midlands that he believes are truly great. The EP's release party was held at the O2 Academy Birmingham, where Synikall headlined the near-sold-out show with a full live band.
2019 - Supported hip hop legend; KRS-One
2019 saw Synikall take some time away from music due to personal reasons - but that didn't stop him tearing down the O2 Institute, opening for hip hop legend; KRS One. A truly landmark achievement for Synikall, which served as a reminder of why music is so important to him.
